Colors & Minds
GiocaPlay

Il tuo cervello legge prima di vedere. Your brain reads before it sees.

A word naming one color, printed in the ink of another. Each turn the question changes: what color do you see, or what word is it? You have seconds to answer.

Gratis, senza registrazione. Sul telefono funziona anche offline. Free, no sign-up. On your phone it also works offline.

Da tastiera: tasti da 1 a 6.On a keyboard: keys 1 to 6.

Una parola, due domandeOne word, two questions

Che colore vedi? What color do you see?

Conta l'inchiostro. The ink counts. Here the answer is purple, even though you read “green”.

Che parola è?What word is it?

The meaning counts. Here the answer is green, even though it's printed in purple.

The two questions come in random order, so you can't settle into one rule: you have to read the question every time.

Tre livelliThree levels

A fast answer is worth up to twice the points. A combo multiplies points by 2, and by 3 once the streak doubles.

Perché è così difficileWhy it's so hard

In 1935 the psychologist John Ridley Stroop measured that people name the ink color more slowly when the word names a different color. Reading is automatic: your brain does it even when it isn't needed, and that reading has to be stopped before you answer. Colors & Minds turns this interference into a timed game.
